The Changing Scene

The photo is of Selecta pedicab drivers going to the town plaza of Los Baños to join the parade or something. It’s September 17, my birthday, and the whole town is celebrating – it happens to be the town’s Foundation Day. 2 birthdays in 1.

I have been changing my header image now for every upload. I have removed the first, my photograph at the Manila Polo Club 7 January 2007, where I had been invited along with my daughter Jennifer by Dr Antonio C Oposa, Surgeon Nonpareil and his lovely wife Bella. The broad ‘red line’ is actually the boundary marker of the polo field in front of the grandstand. Boundaries are necessary – freedom must be defined by boundaries. I remember UP Dean Ricardo Pascual saying in the 1960s yet: ‘Freedom is like this – you are free to swing your arm short of my nose.’ – 2007 October 1
